Essential Footwear for a Romantic Weekend Getaway

So, the time has come and you and your partner are finally going away on that romantic weekend! If you’re anything like me, you’re probably planning outfits in your head. Which dress to take and how many outfits do you need? And what about shoes? If you’re not sure what to take with you, read on for the most essential shoes you need to take for your romantic getaway! Nike basketball shoes may not be the best choice to take.

Outdoor Activities

Now, this all depends on where exactly you are going for your getaway, but there’s every chance you will be outside at some point. Whether that’s going for a walk through the countryside, along a sandy beach or through quiet woodland, the right footwear is essential (you won’t want to ruin your favourite pair of trainers.) Ensure you have a sturdy pair of walking boots or some comfy trainers at least, so your feet won’t be aching after a long walk. Couple them with a pair of walking socks to keep your feet dry, warm, and free from blisters. These can be bought from most shops and won’t break the bank.

Romantic Meal

No romantic getaway is complete without a fancy meal for two on an evening (if not every evening). And what better time to get dressed up, with a pair of heels to go with it. Impress bae with your shoes and make your look complete with a stunning pair of new high heels. Take a look at Head over Heels for the best shoes for an amazing price. From stilettos to wedges, you can be sure to find a shoe (or a few) that will compliment you.

Oh, and make sure you break them in. There is nothing worse than putting on a pair of gorgeous heels only to find they are giving you the biggest blister ever, and you need to take them off halfway through your date! Wear them around your house before the weekend to break them in and get used to them to avoid your date being ruined by sore feet.

Comfy Shoes

After all this walking and tottering about in heels, you will be glad to put your feet into something much comfier. Whether you take a pair of fluffy slippers or some simple sliders, make sure you have something you can slip on at the end of a long day, whilst you’re watching a film or pottering about before bed. It’s important to give your feet a break, and if you’re lucky, you might be able to talk your partner into giving you a foot massage. Heaven!

Specific Footwear

What are you planning on doing this weekend? If you’re heading to the beach, consider taking some flip flops or jelly shoes so you can say yes to going in the sea without having to worry about what you’re standing on. Will you be going swimming, to a sauna, or for a spa day? If the answer is ‘yes’, it may be a good idea to take some flip flops with you from home. You may be given a pair once you get there, but it’s always good to be prepared. If you know you’re going to be doing an activity that requires special footwear, don’t forget to pack it! You don’t want to get there and find out you’re not allowed in because you simply don’t have the right footwear!

Now you’re ready to go, don’t forget to pack the essentials. And if you can’t decide between a pair of shoes – take them both. You can never have too many shoes!
