How to Stand Out as a Fashion Blogger

Tapping the millennial consumers is the key to creating a huge following. A recent study by Women’s Wear Daily found that of the 546 retailers tracked by their brand partners, millennials contributed 80 percent of the sales growth during the past year.

Moreover, in the US, millennials outpaced their baby boomers (51-50 percent) by more than nine percent, with 69.5 million millennials eligible to vote in the 2016 presidential election. Thus, fashion blogs have to create blogs and share content that caters to millennials.

If you already have a fashion blog, you have an advantage of tapping millennials since they constitute almost half the online audience.

With that, it’s time to understand how to stand out in the crowd.

Be Curious About Your Audience

One way to be interesting is to understand your customer’s mindset. Ask yourself questions. For example, what is the store most likely to ask if you were to wear something that is really far from your personal style? Your audience has other interests as well, of which the value you should deliver subliminally, like how the best casino bonus is definitely something a fashion-centred audience wouldn’t mind hearing about, at all!

Ask yourself questions like:

What are millennials thinking of now?

Why are people interested in fashion and what’s their thought process behind buying?

What kind of content does this particular generation follow?

Focus On The Basics

There are seven foundational things that you must focus on when writing about fashion. For instance, write about how clothes are designed and what you want your readers to see. To do this well, you need to learn and absorb everything you can about fashion.

Take notes on the details that you learn from your mentor and colleagues. Then, present your thoughts and ideas to your audience.

Present Your Ideas In A Sound Way

You don’t need to write complicated copies. However, you do have to explain your ideas in a way that people can understand. A good example is when you write about the basics.

For instance, write about how you don’t like sleeveless tops and how the potential of a fashion blogger is to capture attention in a memorable way. Also, when you write about the basics, you will have the opportunity to mention your personal style.

You can also share pictures of fashion styles. You could either post your pics in your preferred attire or share flat lay pics of different clothing pieces complied artistically. For flat lay photography, equipment similar to styleshoots horizontal machine can be a beneficial investment. The tabletop has the ability to shift backdrops at the touch of a button, and the backlit glass can enhance your photo quality.

Be Engaging

You can be engaging and don’t need to write about outfits and post pictures of yourself. However, you do have to tell your readers about a particular brand, which then, makes them interested in what they write about.

If you are talking about the brand, then use words that engage the reader. For example, you can share that you feel that you can meet the brand’s values by sharing some of their values. For a reason, if you write about the brand in a way that makes them curious, then you have the best chance of attracting their attention.

Remember Your Focus

Fashion bloggers have to think about their focus. When they know what they want to achieve, they are able to effectively focus their efforts.

For example, if you want to write about fashion and want to find a good fit, you need to focus on the brand.
