3 tips to avoid sweaty clothes in the summer

As summer is coming to an end many find peace knowing less warmth and sweaty weather lies ahead. But as the climate shifts towards warmer weather we more often than ever find ourselves in clothes soaked in sweat and not so flattering sweat patterns emerge on our backs, under our arms and anywhere really on our bodies. So, what can we do about it? Well, here are our top 3 tips to avoid sweating too much when the heat hits!

1 – Get a sweat treatment

Treatment for excessive sweating is available in most countries. It most commonly involves the injection of Botox just under the skin to block the sweating. This is a safe and well tested method that was first invented by Swedish dermatologist, Carl Swartling. At his sweat treatment center in Stockholm, Svettmottagningen, 90% of all patients are happy with the results.

Depending on the size of the area you want treated the injections take between 15-60 minutes. The results should come within one or two days and last up to six months. In other words, if you get the treatment in May, it should last all summer – perfect!

2 – Wear clothes that are not to hot

More often than not people tend to put on too much clothes. They get hot and when they get hot… you guessed it – they start to sweat! But, how could you know how much clothes to wear? Well, firstly, try not to judge how much clothes to wear only from the outside temperature if you’re leaving home early in the morning. This will likely result in bringing too much clothes thus, as the temperature rises throughout the day, make you too hot. Instead, try to have a look at the forecast. Bring enough clothes to stay warm and toasty in the morning and evening but cooler around noon.

However, make sure you bring clothes that you can easily remove and put somewhere. Thus it can be a good idea to bring a backpack or something similar to put those extra clothes in.

A good rule of thumb here is to dress so that you are just warm enough not to start freezing when you stand still. When you then start walking you will reach a slightly higher temperature.

3 – Make up a plan in advance

Sure, it’s so easy to go on that last bit to the destination but maybe, just maybe, it’s a better idea to stop and have a sip of something cool?

Bring a cold soft drink and pop it open before you reach that boiling temperature. Try to be proactive here – before you reach that critical temperature, stop and take a break, find some shadow and have a drink of something cold. This does wonders for the ones who are easily heated.

Finally…

We hope these tips come to good use for the last bit of the summer and maybe for the future. Having problems with excessive sweating can be a crippling condition. However, it can be cured.
