5 Reasons Why Mums Need a Hot Tub

Hot tub, jacuzzi or spa, whatever you want to call them, no mum should be without one of these bubbly life-changers.

Why?

We could write a book on the benefits but here are just five reasons why mums need a hot tub.

A healthy way to relax

Although a family-size chocolate bar you have no intention of sharing with the family and a bottle of wine while you binge-watch box-sets on Netflix can seem like the ideal way to relax, it’s not the healthiest of hobbies.

Binge-eating and boozing on the sofa may give you instant gratification but, in the long-term, it’ll leave you feeling grumpy, tired and lethargic.

Relaxing in a hot tub at the end of the day after the kids have been fed, watered and packed off to bed, however, will leave you feeling refreshed and energised but in a way that leads to a great night’s sleep (more on that below).

So, step away from the sofa, sink into the water and let the bubbles massage your stress away. If you don’t have a hot tub at home, either you can visit a spa and jacuzzi once in a while, or install one at home. You can check out Aqua Hot Tubs or similar brands online and in your neighborhood to get the best deals on a hot tub purchase and installation.

Hot tubs can improve sleep

You’d think running around all day after children would wear you out so much you’d fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow. What often happens though is that you’re so wired and stressed after spending the day juggling a million things at once, then spending the evening thinking about the million things you have to juggle tomorrow, your brain can’t switch off.

Studies have shown that warm water helps with sleep. Enjoying a soak in a warm hot tub before bed will heat your body, then when you get out of the tub, your body will naturally cool down, which sends a signal to your brain that it’s time to sleep.

You’ll have a great night’s sleep, you’ll wake up feeling refreshed and better equipped for a hard day’s parenting.

Perfect for parties

When you have children, it’s easy to think your partying days are over. But with all this improved sleep you’ll be getting, you’ll have more energy for partying and you won’t even have to leave the perimeter of your house.

Invite your friends and neighbours over, provide snacks and drinks and put some music on. The neighbours won’t be complaining about the noise as they’ll be too busy enjoying your hospitality.

Great for child-care swap parties

If the mums at the school gates are jealous of your hot tub, invite them around for a weekly child-care swap party. This works by choosing a date when you’re all available, choosing one mum a week to look after everyone’s kids while the rest relax/get drunk on Prosecco in the hot tub.

The adults get to talk to other adults, the children get to hang out with other children their own age and you no longer get dirty looks at the school gates.

Fabulous for family time

You might be tempted to keep the hot tub just for you and your friends but a hot tub is a great way to spend some quality family time together.

One of the obvious benefits of getting the family together in the hot tub is that it’s a screen-free zone – water and expensive devices aren’t a good combination, so ban the phones and tablets from the tub.

There are plenty of games you can play in the hot tub that involve looking up, not down at a screen.

Hot tubs are not only fun but they’re beneficial to your health. Isn’t that a good enough reason to buy one? So what are you waiting for? Get on the internet and look up sites which have Hot Tubs For Sale!

In the interests of your health and safety though, please only buy a hot tub from an established retailer who can advise you on making sure the water is treated properly with appropriate chemicals.
